"The one minimum requirement is that effort, and that’s what we are going to bring to every game"
Sam Morsy says that Town are ready to give absolutely everything to be successful in the 2022/23 campaign following a 'fantastic' pre-season.
The Blues begin the new term against Bolton Wanderers tomorrow afternoon in a 3pm kick-off at Portman Road.
A crowd of over 27,000 is expected to back Kieran McKenna's side, with Sam hoping that the players can put in a performance that will match the supporters' passion.
"We’ve had a fantastic pre-season, we’re looking really strong and we’re raring to go," the Town captain told iFollow Ipswich.
"We’ve worked a lot on our shape, on and off the ball. It’s been a very hard pre-season but it’s exactly what we’ve wanted.
"It’s the first game of the season in front of our fans so we want to give absolutely everything we’ve got, but I think that’s just going to be the theme throughout the whole season to be honest.
"The one minimum requirement is that effort, and that’s what we are going to bring to every game.
"Bolton are a really good team. They were one of the best teams we played last season.
"They’ve got lots of good players and a really good manager [Ian Evatt]. I played with him [whilst at Chesterfield]. He’s always been football obsessed and he’s doing an amazing job in management.
"It’s going to be a really tough test but every game is."
