"I’ve spent over a quarter of a century working in football and I have loved every single minute"
Ipswich Town Club Secretary Stuart Hayton received an EFL Long Service Award last week.
Stuart, who was presented with a trophy at the EFL’s Summer Conference on Thursday evening, will celebrate 26 years of working in football on 1 October this year.
His career began at hometown club Wigan during a period when the Latics lifted the FA Cup.
Stuart went on to work at Liverpool, Leeds and Cardiff City before joining Town in April 2017.
In his impressive career to date, he has spent 10 seasons working in the Premier League and 16 within the EFL.
"I was honoured to receive the EFL Long Service Award last week,” Stuart told the Club website.
"I’ve spent over a quarter of a century working in football and I have loved every single minute."
EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch presented Stuart with his award, whilst Oxford's Mick Brown was also honoured at last week's Summer Conference.
