Armed Forces Day celebrated with veteran support partnership
Town have agreed a five-year partnership with the veterans outreach programme Combat2Coffee.
The community project was set up by veteran Nigel Seaman in order to train and support ex-servicemen and women for future employment opportunities.
The partnership will see Combat2Coffee provide hot drinks in hospitality areas and the FanZone at Portman Road as well as Playford Road training ground.
“We’ve been given a fantastic opportunity, not only for veterans and their family members but for Suffolk as a whole,” Nigel told the Club website.
“For the Club to commit to us for such a significant period of time is magnificent.
“We’re really happy that George Edmundson wanted to get involved in our announcement, he’s someone that believes in us and supports what we’re doing with mental health and support of our veterans.”
Town’s Director of Venue, Stuart Cox added: “I’m delighted that we’ve secured this partnership with such a wonderful organisation.
“The community focus of Combat2Coffee is exactly what we stand for at Ipswich Town, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve whilst working together.”
