Blues defender on first pre-season outing
Luke Woolfenden said it was great to be back out there playing football in Town's first pre-season outing at Needham Market.
The Blues ran out 7-0 winners at Bloomfields, with Conor Chaplin hitting a hat-trick, Matt Penney, Tommy Hughes, Freddie Ladapo and Greg Leigh were also on the scoresheet.
Woolfy started in the first 30-minute squad before Kieran McKenna named a different XI for the second period.
"It was great to be back out there playing football again in front of the fans, these games aren't really about the result, it's more the performance, The Blues defender told the Club website.
"We've only been back a week and you can see the patterns of play in training transferring onto the pitch.
"We've got to keep working hard, still only one week into pre-season. The competitiveness in the group is really strong and we keep pushing each other.
"It was nice to get minutes into the legs and we'll be back working hard again next week."
Town will begin their second week of pre-season training at Playford Road on Monday, before heading to Loughborough the week after.
