Clean week training but duo still sidelined for Lancashire trip

Kieran McKenna has confirmed that the squad came through last weekend's clash with Morecambe unscathed, with Kyle Edwards and Lee Evans the only two first-team players set to miss out against Fleetwood on Saturday.

Lee is currently sidelined with a knee problem, while Kyle is set to be in the treatment room for a little while after picking up a quad injury last month.

"Matt Penney had a little injury last week that he picked up very late in training, but he is all good now," Kieran said.

"It was a knock on his ankle but it's better and we have had a clean week this week.

"It's just Lee and Kyle that are the longer-term injuries at the moment."

"There's not too much change on Lee. It's still a matter of weeks, and hopefully fewer weeks than when I last did a pre-match interview. He's progressing in the gym but isn't outside just yet.

"Hopefully he will get on the grass again next week, and then it's all about building himself up in training."
