Five nominees as Town pick up 12 points in Feb

Supporters can now vote for their Greene King Player of the Month for February.

Town picked up a total of 12 points in the month, with three wins and three draws in six games.

Kieran McKenna’s side also set an impressive Club record by going 559 minutes without conceding a goal, Aaron Wildig's header away to Morecambe eventually bringing the run to an end as the Blues conceded just one goal in the whole month.

Town kicked February off with a home victory against Gillingham as Conor Chaplin netted in the second half, before following that up with another three points on the road to Doncaster, this time Tyreeq Bakinson with the all-important strike and his first goal for the Club.

A goalless draw at MK Dons followed, with almost 7,000 Town fans in attendance.

Next up was a 3-0 win against Burton at Portman Road, with Kayden Jackson unquestionably the man of the moment. Having led the line in Buckinghamshire against MK Dons, the forward made an electric start against the Brewers, firing in with just 43 seconds on the clock. Kayden then provided assists for Wes Burns and Bersant Celina as Town cruised to three points.

The last two games have seen the Blues draw against Cheltenham and Morecambe respectively, with Wes finding the back of the net against The Shrimps at the weekend.

The nominees for the Greene King Player of the Month for February are:

  • Wes Burns
  • Kayden Jackson
  • Sam Morsy
  • Christian Walton
  • Luke Woolfenden

Wes scored two goals in the month, bagging the Blues' second against the Brewers before then notching the late equaliser against Morecambe on Saturday.

Kayden, meanwhile, defended from the front brilliantly against MK Dons and followed that hard work by stealing the show at home to Burton.

Sam, who returned to the team at Stadium MK, supplied a driving force from midfield in Town's last four outings, and has played every minute for the side since coming back in away to Dons.

Christian and Woolfy both played every minute for the Blues in February, boasting an impressive record with just the one goal conceded.
