"I think it’s really important to have familiar surroundings for us to try and have that home advantage"
Town Women manager Joe Sheehan says that his team were always keen to play Sunday's Women's Vitality FA Cup quarter-final against West Ham at their usual home venue.
The Tractor Girls will take on the Women's Super League Hammers in a 12.30 kick-off at the Goldstar Ground, Felixstowe - which will be packed with a capacity 2,000 strong crowd.
Supporters that did not manage to purchase a ticket can watch on TV, with BBC Red Button showing the clash.
Given the importance and magnitude of the game, there were naturally calls for it to be played at Portman Road, but Joe hopes that the familiar surroundings of Felixstowe will be beneficial in Sunday's clash.
"First and foremost, Felixstowe is our home ground," said Joe.
"I speak on behalf of the players, the staff and the supporters by saying that we all enjoy being there.
"Obviously, the opportunity to play at Portman Road is something we’d all relish at some stage. For the moment, we’re definitely keen to play at Felixstowe because we know it.
"Felixstowe have been great hosts for us over many years now and they deserve to be part of this tie as well.
"It's somewhere we're used to and because of the magnitude of the game, I think it’s really important to have familiar surroundings for us to try and have that home advantage."
