"The second half performance deserved the win"
Kieran McKenna described Oxford's last-gasp equaliser at Kassam Stadium as "a sickener" for Town.
After a dominant second-half display from the Blues, which saw Bersant Celina break the deadlock in the 69th minute, Oxford snatched a point thanks to Luke McNally's header in the final seconds of added time.
"It's a sickener for everyone," Kieran told iFollow Ipswich.
"That's not just the players and staff but also the fans, who gave us fantastic support today.
"The second-half performance deserved the win, but we didn't go and get the important second goal. If you don't get that second goal then there is always a chance that something might happen.
"It was a hard-fought game and they had the better of the territory in the first half but we dominated the second 45 minutes.
"I think, apart from conceding the goal, the biggest regret is that we didn't kill the game off. The game was there for us and we could have taken it away from them.
"The fans were brilliant today and deserved to go home with a positive feeling. Unfortunately we couldn't quite give them that, but I think they saw the effort from the players, who really appreciate their backing."
