Special event in FanZone to remember Paul Mariner

The Club will be honouring Paul Mariner when Town play Plymouth Argyle at Portman Road on Saturday, 26 March.

The Blues legend made 339 appearances for Town and 155 for the Pilgrims.

Paul was part of Sir Bobby Robson's FA Cup and UEFA Cup winning sides and is regarded as one of the best players ever to wear the Town shirt.

To begin the day, there will be an exclusive season ticket holder event in the FanZone before the match with Bryan Hamilton hosting a Q&A with John Wark and Russell Osman, where they will be remembering their former teammate and tell stories from that iconic era.

The event will begin at 11.45am in the FanZone and will conclude at 12.30pm. Arrival will be from 11.20am via gate 1A.

300 'tickets' will be available for season ticket holders to snap up from 10am tomorrow [15 March]. Tickets are free of charge and can be booked HERE.

There will be a range of limited edition Paul Mariner Day merchandise available in Planet Blue at the Plymouth clash including scarves and mugs.

£5 from every scarf sale and £3 from every mug sale of the Paul Mariner Day range will go directly to the Brain Tumour Charity, which was selected by Paul’s family.

The Club has worked with Glory Days Artwork who has designed the front cover of the matchday programme which will feature Paul Mariner.

There will be a display in the Sir Bobby Robson Stand by Blue Action, with blue and white flags in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand. Plymouth fans will also have green and white plastic sheets to hold up as the players emerge from the tunnel.

Members of the Mariner family will be at Portman Road for what promises to be a special occasion. There will be a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off to remember Paul Mariner.
