"We're well on top in games and I think we need to have a ruthless mentality"

Wes Burns says the Town squad still fully believes they can achieve a play-off place this season.

Despite drawing the last two, the Blues remain ninth in the League One table, six points outside the top six, with 11 games left to play in the campaign.

"We are disappointed at only taking two points from the last two games," the winger said.

"But, we have spoken about those games and they were definitely two of our strongest performances this season, in terms of dominating the games and creating chances. For whatever reason we couldn't put the ball in the back of the net, but we would be more concerned if we weren't creating the chances.

"We're well on top in games and I think we need to have a ruthless mentality - that's everyone in the squad. We need to be ruthless when we have chances to score and deliver the killer blow. We have to put teams away when we are on top.

"There is still a belief in the squad, though. We did a recap earlier in the week and we have averaged two points per game in the manager's first 12 matches, if we can do that in the final 11 games of the season then we will finish on 75 points.

"That's the aim and we're still confident."
