Various stewarding opportunities for 2022/23 campaign
The Club is looking to hire more matchday stewards ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Due to increasing crowd numbers at Portman Road, additional matchday staff are required to ensure a safe, smooth and enjoyable environment for Blues fans at the stadium.
Matchday stewards
Required to assist and direct spectators and to implement ground regulations at all our home games and any other major events held at the stadium. We are looking for people with good interpersonal skills. Full training to NVQ Level Two will be provided.
Turnstile Operators
Required to check matchday tickets on entry to Portman Road and to prevent unauthorised access. Again, applicants should have good customer service skills. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.
Specific Roles
- Gate 17 steward. Normal matchday stewarding hours (12.30pm - 5.30pm for a 3pm kick-off or 6pm - 10.30pm for a 7.45pm kick-off).
- Sir Alf Ramsey car park. Matchday stewarding hours (9am - 3pm for a 3pm kick-off or 3pm - 7.45pm for a 7.45pm kick-off).
- Main gate female steward. Matchday stewarding hours (12.15pm - 2.45pm for a 3pm kick-off or 5pm to 7.30pm for a 7.45pm kick-off). There is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act 2010 for the holder of this post to be female.
- Gate 1 steward. Matchday stewarding hours (10.30am - 5.30pm for a 3pm kick-off or 6pm - 10.30pm for a 7.45pm kick-off).
