Five potential fixtures for Blues winger

Wes Burns has been called up to the Wales squad for a FIFA World Cup play-off against either Scotland or Ukraine on 5 June, as well as four UEFA Nations League fixtures in the same month.

Robert Page's side face Poland in Wroclaw on 1 June before hosting either Scotland or Ukraine at the Cardiff City Stadium four days later. The winner of the tie in the Welsh capital will secure a spot at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Following that, Wales take on the Netherlands, also in Cardiff, on 8 June before another home fixture, against against Roberto Martinez's Belgium, on 11 June.

Three days later the Welsh squad will go up against Oranje again, this time in Rotterdam.

This call-up is Wes' third for his country, the last of which came in 2016, although the Blues winger is yet to earn a cap for the national side's senior team.

Wes, who notched 13 goals for the Blues in the 2021/22 season after arriving at Portman Road from Fleetwood Town last summer, has previously represented Wales at U21 level.

The 27-year-old will join up with his international teammates for a training camp in Lagos, Portugal, this week.
