Donate in the FanZone or near to the Sir Bobby Robson statue
Ipswich Town Fans Supporting Foodbanks will be hosting another collection at this weekend's home fixture against Exeter.
The group has previously organised successful collections for the Plymouth, Forest Green and Shrewsbury games at Portman Road over recent months.
Once again, they will be collecting donations on behalf of Club charity partner FIND (Families in Need). FIND was established as a registered charity in 1990 by Maureen Reynel MBE. The charity helps those in Ipswich and the surrounding areas that are deprived of a minimum standard of living, whether they are single, families, lone parents, children, elderly, sick, disabled or homeless.
They offer free-of-charge food, as well as household items such as furniture, bedding and, when available, kitchen items such as cookers, refrigerators and washing machines.
Home supporters can donate in the FanZone, while both sets of fans can support an important cause near to the Sir Bobby Robson statue, which is located behind the Cobbold Stand.
Examples of donations fans can make are:
- Milk (UHT or dried)
- Tinned tomatoes
- Tinned meat/fish
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Tinned fruit/vegetables
- Jam
- Cereals (Weetabix, small Kellogg's variety pack)
- Toiletries
- Long grain rice
- Ready meals
Cash donations will also be accepted.
Fans Supporting Foodbanks is based on the idea that football fans can come together, even if they back different teams, to support the community against poverty.
Ipswich Town Fans Supporting Foodbanks is an arm of the original Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative that launched in 2015 when Liverpool and Everton followers came together to show solidarity with those experiencing poverty.
