Blues looking to progress against Royals
Assistant Manager Martyn Pert is expecting a tough game when Town go to Reading in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night.
The Blues’ reward for beating Bristol Rovers in round one is a trip to the Select Car Leasing Stadium, to face a Royals side relegated from the Championship last season.
There are likely to be changes to the starting XI for the cup game in Berkshire, with Martyn keen for the Blues to progress.
“I think we’ll change it, as we did in the previous round, but I’m not sure what they will be,” he told TownTV.
“We will get players minutes but will go there trying to get the win.
“Every team at home will be wanting to win, so Reading will be motivated and have some good players and a good coach (Ruben Selles).
“It will be a difficult one because in these games you’re never 100% sure what the teams will look like. We will make changes and we would expect them too as well.”

Defender Janoi Donacien and striker George Hirst missed Saturday’s 4-3 defeat by Leeds due to injury issues, with Martyn providing an update regarding their fitness.
“It was a really demanding game, which all games in the Championship are, but the lads have come through quite well,” Martyn said of the Leeds.
“There are a few knocks and bruises, that we’ll check on today, but everyone finished the game ok so we’ll see how everything goes today.
“JD had a groin injury after QPR and will probably struggle for the weekend (against Cardiff). George was touch and go and will probably just miss out on Tuesday night, so we’ll see how he goes for the rest of the week.”
Discussing the Leeds game further, Martyn added: "It was a cracking game for the fans, obviously.
“Before the game, the Manager (Kieran McKenna) was saying he thought it would be 4-3, but obviously hoping it would be to us.
“I thought we played really well. There were obviously moments where we conceded four goals and those are things we want to improve on, because we’re disappointed with some of them. But, generally, I thought, as a team, we played really well.”
