Curtis on target and midfielder marks return

Panutcha Camara played just over an hour for Town U21s this afternoon as they were held to a draw against Charlton.

The midfielder picked up vital game time at Playford Road, having been absent from match action since December through a groin injury.

Town took the lead with just eight minutes on the clock as Harley Curtis finished from inside the box after Tawanda Chirewa's initial shot had deflected into his path.

Pat Casey converted from close range at the other end two minutes later to level the scores and, ultimately, earn a point for the visitors.

The young Blues' best chances for the remainder of the first half both fell to Nico Valentine, who was denied from eight yards on two occasions by Ahmed Kone, the latter opportunity after a driving run from Camara.

In between Valentine's two efforts, Richard Chin should have put the visitors in front, however, he could only fire into the side-netting from six yards.

John McGreal's side started the second half strongly, with Chirewa seeing a shot from a tight angle turned behind before his delivery from the resulting corner was met by a powerful Daniel O'Connor volley, which was also saved.

Town had a big chance to win it inside the final 10 minutes but, after being teed up by Chirewa, Osman Foyo blazed a left-footed effort over the top of the crossbar.
