Leif Davis has been named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season.

The left-back was recognised alongside 10 of his second division colleagues at Sunday evening’s annual EFL Awards ceremony in London.

Leif, who was also named in the EFL League One Team of the Season alongside Conor Chaplin at the same event last year, has made 40 league appearances this term.

He has contributed to 11 clean sheets, with the Blues also impressively shutting out their opposition in the three games he was unavailable for.

Finding the back of the net himself on two occasions, both coming in 3-2 home wins over Bristol City and Southampton, the 24-year-old’s 2023/24 campaign has perhaps been most memorable, at least on an individual level, for breaking the Championship assists record for a defender.

He moved on to 14 assists for the season in the aforementioned Robins victory last month, bringing him level with previous joint-holders Barry Douglas (Wolves 2017/18) and Kieran Tripper (Burnley 2013/14), but has since taken his tally to 17 with three games remaining.
