All you need to know ahead of Preston trip

Town take on Preston North End tomorrow, with close to 3,500 members of the Blue Army making the journey north for the 3pm kick-off.

Though online sales have ended, tickets in the away end will be available to purchase on the day of the game with no price increase. Deepdale is a cashless stadium so supporters paying on the day are advised only card payments will be accepted.

Kieran McKenna's side will be looking for a repeat of their October success against Ryan Lowe's Preston side, who currently occupy 12th place in the Championship, sitting 20 points behind second-placed Town.

Official Club coaches will be departing Portman Road at 6am, with fans asked to be ready to leave no later than 5.45am to allow for a prompt departure from behind the Sir Bobby Robson Stand. Those driving should, as always, note that the long-term roadworks between Bury St Edmunds will cause delays to journey times. Travel times from Ipswich will likely take between four and five hours, with supporters advised to allow at least an hour beyond this. When arriving in Lancashire, various street parking options, which are detailed in the comprehensive guide, are available, with an official car park on Moor Park Avenue.

Rail services will be impacted heavily due to scheduled strikes on Saturday, with reduced Greater Anglia services running. Trains will begin later in the day, and will be finishing earlier than usual too. With uncertainty surrounding train travel, it is advised to check up-to-date timetables before setting off. Various routes are available to take, and these are detailed within the comprehensive guide below.

Upon arrival in Preston, Deepdale Retail Park is often a popular meeting point for away supporters, with various outlets and venues available within the area. There are a number of pubs that accommodate visiting fans within the town centre, with the most popular detailed within the away day guide.

Supporters are reminded that the safe seating area, which is a designated area for those who are unable to stand and would prefer to sit to watch the game, will be in operation on the front row of each block. These seats will include older fans, families, and ambulant disabled fans. We therefore require those within the area to stay seated to allow everyone to enjoy the day fully.

Those who are unable to make the journey can listen to proceedings live on TownTV, with UK-based subscribers able to view a live pre-match show which gets underway an hour before kick-off, before enjoying live audio commentary. International subscribers will be able to view both the pre-match show and live coverage of the game, with full details available here.

The below comprehensive guide, which has been prepared by the Club's Supporter Liaison Officer, Liz Edwards, contains all the key details to be aware of ahead of the game.

If making the trip, have a safe and enjoyable journey.
