Three Town players have been nominated for the PFA Championship Fans’ Player of the Year award.
Captain Sam Morsy, left-sider Leif Davis and attacker Omari Hutchinson have all been nominated for the prize, having played vital roles in the Blues’ winning promotion to the Premier League.
Skipper Sam led from the front whenever he stepped on the pitch, bringing drive, tenacity and composure to the Town midfield, while also chipping in with two vital goals to secure victory at Watford and then an important point at home to Leicester City. He has already been voted as Town’s Player of the Year by the Club’s supporters.
Leif made 43 Championship appearances across the season and led the league on a tally of 18 assists, while also netting vital goals in the dramatic victories over Bristol City and Southampton. Leif’s performances over the season have already seen him named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season, while also being voted Town’s Players’ Player of the Year.
Omari made a significant impact during what was his first season of senior football, having joined the Blues on loan from Chelsea. In total, he netted 11 goals, including two vital strikes away at Hull and then at home to Huddersfield on the final day to help secure promotion.
Town are the only club to have had three players nominated for the prize, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall of Leicester and both Ethan Ampadu and Crysencio Summerville of Leeds also nominated. Also on the shortlist are Adam Armstrong of Southampton and Sammie Szmodics of Blackburn Rovers.
