Maria Boswell joined Town from Essex RTC in the summer of 2019, first linking up with the club’s WSL Academy Squad.

She made her senior debut in a 3-0 win against Billericay Town in September 2020 and has gone on to become a mainstay, passing 100 appearances during the 2025/26 season.

The defender took on the captain’s armband in December 2023 after Blue Wilson’s departure and led Town to a historic promotion up to the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 in 2024/25.

Last season the skipper then helped the Blues to WSL2 survival, scoring the club’s Goal of the Season with a stunning long-range strike against Sheffield United in a 4-1 win under the lights at home in April.
