Completed a permanent move to Town after originally joining on loan from Nottingham Forest.

David began his career at local side Notts County, before switching to Southampton as a teenager.

Took in loan spells at Bournemouth and Port Vale before establishing himself in the Saints first-team, finishing as top scorer the season the club were relegated to League One.

Moved to Nottingham Forest upon relegation and was twice part of Billy Davies' side who lost in successive Championship Play-Off campaigns.

Spent time on loan at Coventry, becoming the Sky Blues' top scorer, before agreeing a switch to Portman Road, initially on loan before making that move permanent.

Ended his first full season at Town as top scorer with 16 goals, which included missing the end of the season after picking up a serious knee injury in February.

Last season, he scored five goals, and set up a further five, in all competitions, despite another injury-hit season.
