Joe Pigott began his career at Charlton Athletic, signing his first professional contract in January 2012. He made a total of 12 appearances for the Addicks, and had six loan spells during his time at The Valley, including stints with Southend, Gillingham and Luton Town.

On 8 July 2016, Joe penned a one-year contract for League 2 side Cambridge United, although was loaned to National League outfit Maidstone United, for whom he signed permanently in 2017.

Having scored 11 times in 28 appearances in the 2017/18 season, Joe joined League One side AFC Wimbledon and scored four minutes into his debut. The striker was also to make history for The Dons, scoring the first ever goal at the new Plough Lane stadium against Doncaster Rovers.

Joe scored a total of 20 league goals for AFC Wimbledon in 2020/21 before joining Town in July ahead of the 2021/22 season. He signed a three-year contract with the Blues and scored his first goal for the Club away to Burton in August 2021.
