Vaclav joined Town from Salford City in June 2021.

The Czech shot-stopper penned a three-year deal at Portman Road, keeping him at the Club until the summer of 2024.

Vaclav, nicknamed Vas, turned professional with FC Zbrojovka Brno B and enjoyed 13 years playing in the Czech Republic before completing a switch to St Mirren in 2019.

He quickly became a fan favourite at St Mirren Park and in May 2019 proved to be the man of the moment when The Buddies faced Dundee United in the play-off final. Following a 1-1 draw, Vas saved three out of four penalties to keep St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

In August 2020 he completed a switch to Salford City. A highlight of his time with The Ammies was saving the deciding penalty as Salford defeated Portsmouth 4-2 in the shoot-out following a 0-0 draw at Wembley to win the 2020 EFL Trophy (although the final was played in March 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic).

Vas, who wears the number 31 shirt, made his Town debut on 7 August 2021 in a 2-2 draw with Morecambe at Portman Road.
