First time at Portman Road?
If it’s your first visit to our stadium, then you may have some questions. Here’s our guide to make sure your visit to Portman Road is an enjoyable one and as stress-free as possible.
Is it your first game?
Please register your details below to receive your certificate from Bluey on the field turf outisde the FanZone at 2.15pm for a 3pm kick-off or at 7pm for a 7.45pm kick-off. Look out for Bluey - you can't miss him!
In addition to receiving your certificate, your name will also be read out on the PA at half-time.
Please note that all submissions must be made at least 24 hours prior to kick-off (ie. 3pm on Friday for a Saturday 3pm kick-off) in order to receive your certificate.

Purchasing match tickets
It’s easy to buy your match tickets, you can do this either online, in person at the Club shop (Planet Blue) or via the cash turnstiles on a matchday.
If you choose to buy online you will need to visit www.itfcdirect.com and select the option 'join' in the top right hand corner. This will allow you register on the site and create a unique password.
When your registration is complete you will be able to login and browse the site. In order to purchase a ticket, you will need to select the relevant tab, and so for a visit to Portman Road you would select home games and then choose the game that you would like to attend. Please be aware that our tickets are sold on a priority basis and so if you are not a member or a season ticket holder you will need to wait until the general sale stage.
When purchasing tickets via the internet you are able to either purchase seating in a specific area, using the select your own seats option, or if you would like to use the auto select seats option all you will be need to enter is the stand that you would like the seats in, and the quantity of tickets. If you are bringing children to a match you might like to know a little more about the seating arrangements and what might be more suitable for a family...
There are four stands at Portman Road
The East of England Co-operative stand
This is our biggest stand, which has three tiers. The whole of the lower tier is a dedicated family area, but areas F, K and L are also family friendly if you like to watch the game from higher up. You will also find the Junior Blues room in this stand which is open from 1.30pm on Saturday games for fun and games and a visit from club mascots Bluey and Crazee. This room is suitable for children ages from 5 to 15.
The Sir Bobby Robson Stand
This is not the ideal stand for families, and children below the age of twelve are not allowed in sit in the lower tier. The language in this area can be a little vociferous and the volume in this area of the ground is at its loudest here.
The Cobbold Stand
This stand is situated opposite the East of England Co-operative stand and has also has a designated family area. If you would like to watch the match from this stand, the whole of lower tier is a designated family area, although they are permitted in the upper tier too. Two points of note in this stand are firstly, the visiting supporters sit in the upper tier of this stand, and also if you choose to sit in the lower tier and it rains, you will get wet!
The Sir Alf Ramsey Stand
Although this does not have a specified family area, you will see lots of children sitting in here. The facilities in the stand are the same as in the others, and it provides an opportunity to watch the game from another angle.
Please rest assured that we adopt a zero tolerance attitude to foul mouthed or abusive comments. If you feel that you child(ren) are being subjected to language or behaviour that you don’t want them to hear please tell the nearest steward. Also be aware that to ensure the designated family areas retain a family friendly atmosphere matchday tickets are sold to a ratio of no more than two adults to one under 19 or 12 ticket.
Bags & Security
In line with increased security guidelines, no large bags are allowed into Portman Road. A standard sized carrier bag (40cm x 40cm x 10cm) is acceptable, but we would advise that fans should not bring bags to football matches. All bags are liable to be searched and items contained within the bag that could be considered to compromise safety such as aerosols, glass bottles, selfie sticks etc, will be confiscated.
The Club also asks fans not to leave any bags unattended, to be particularly vigilant and alert to any suspicious behaviour, or unattended items. If fans see anything of concern then they should immediately report it to the nearest steward or police officer so that immediate action can be taken.
For safety reasons the Club do not sell season tickets, nor allow access, in lower tiers of the stadium, to children under the age of 5 years, including but not limited to “babes-in-arms”. The child must be 5 years old upon the date of the first home league match to qualify for a seat in the lower tier of the stadium. Children under the age of 5 years are welcome, however; the Club will only sell tickets, or allow access, in middle or upper tiers up to the age of 5 years.
We do not recommend that babies or young children come to football games at Portman Road as a crowded environment is not in our opinion the best place for them. However if you do decide to bring a baby or young child with you, then the child will need to have a ticket for a seat. (Priced from £3 in the relevant family area) Whilst we appreciate they would sit on a lap there needs to be a physical space for them in the Stadium under health and safety regulation.
Pushchairs and buggies are not allowed into the stadium for safety reasons. There are a limited number of baby change facilities available. Please ask a steward for assistance if required.
How to get involved in the action....
Young supporters and families are very welcome at Portman Road, and we put a lot of effort into making them feel welcome. Junior club members can be seen on the pitch at every match as mascots or taking part in our matchday experience ‘Fly the Flag’. What time should I arrive at the ground?
Our turnstiles open after all safety checks have been completed, and this is one and a half hours prior to kick off. So, for a 3pm kick off we are open for action at 1.30pm and for a 7.45pm kick-off, 6.15pm.
You will see lots of supporters reading their matchday programmes. These are produced for every match and can be purchased from different locations around the ground at a cost of £3. Included in the programme is a special section for our younger supporter full of fun, games and competitions to keep them amused before and after kick-off.
Programmes are available from 1.30pm for Saturday games or 6.15pm for midweek games.
The Club shop
The name of our main club store is Planet Blue and you will find it on the corner of the Cobbold and Sir Bobby Robson stands. On a matchday it’s opening hours are:
For 3pm kick-offs:
Opens 9am until kick-off and then from the final whistle for 30 minutes
For 7.45pm kick-offs:
Opens 9am until kick-off and then from 9.30 until 10pm.
Please note that although tickets can be purchased in person from the main club store on matchdays, they can only be sold until 1.30 (6.15 for midweek games), and so please do not join the purchasing queue should there be one after 1.15. If you still require tickets after this time you are able to purchase directly from the turnstiles around the ground by cash (or card on selected turnstiles).
Should your seating be located in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand you might wish to visit our 'matchday essentials' kiosk for all of those last minute purchases. Our Planet Bluey store which also contains the essentials and is especially for our younger supporters can be found in the East of England Co-operative stand.
Purchasing refreshments in the stadium
Food and drink purchases can be made from the concourse areas in all four stands of the ground. You will be sure to find something to suit all tastes, and budgets with hot food and snacks being available. Please remember that you will need to pay in cash for any refreshments purchased.
Street parking in the immediate vicinity of the stadium is problematic. However there are plenty of Pay and Display car parks within walking distance of Portman Road. In any case the ground is within easy walking distance of the town centre.
