Blues goalscorer will take a point as he admits to fortunate equaliser
Grant Ward believes Town’s ability to scrap it out all over the pitch helped them to grind out a point at home to Birmingham.
The midfielder scored the equaliser in the second-half with a cross that looped over Tomasz Kuszczak and into the net, and he was happy to be able to take something out of the game.
“I think it was a good point.
“All over the field we scrapped, but it was a scrappy game and probably not the best one to watch.
“I felt that in the first-half it was fairly even, and in the second we didn’t start the best but I think that sparked us a bit because we got going after it.
“I’ve been getting a bit of stick for my goal, it was a cross! I was just whipping it in and hoping for the best.
“As a team we haven’t had the best of luck so sometimes you get it like we did today.
“It’s another big game on Tuesday. We’ll be in tomorrow and watching this one to prepare for Wigan.”
