Frontman, Freddie Sears looks back on Town's 1-1 draw with Leeds at Portman Road
Blues striker, Freddie Sears admits he had no problem with Tom Lawrence playing ahead of him in recent weeks, but was delighted to return with a goal against Leeds at Portman Road.
The former West Ham man opened the scoring before Stuart Dallas scored the only other goal of the match just before the break.
“I’m delighted to score and I’m delighted to be back in the team,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“Tom [Lawrence] was suspended, and he’s been our best player, so there’s no qualms there about him playing ahead of me.
“The gaffer threw down the challenge to me, Pits [Brett Pitman] and Kieffer [Moore], but I got the nod so I had to put myself about today.
“I’m knackered now, but it was a really good shift from everyone so I’m just happy to be back, really.
“Looking at our February fixtures, you could have asked where the points were going to come from but we’ve had a good week and taken five points, while getting a point against Reading too.
“It’s been a really good month, so touch wood we can finish it off next Sunday [at Norwich] with another good result.”
