Match-winner Emyr praises a dogged Town performance following the 1-0 win at Villa Park
Blues goalscorer Emyr Huws has praised the effort of the entire squad as Town became the first side to win at Villa Park this season.
The Welshman scored with just over five minutes of regulation time to play, his first for the Club, and he believes the win has really lifted spirits in the camp.
“It was a really good win, and everyone is buzzing. It’s a good day at the office,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“We soaked up a lot of pressure at the start of the game, and we were maybe a bit fortunate, but we stayed strong.
“Then we gradually got into the game and I thought we played well, dug deep and defended well.
“Fortunately we got the goal we wanted to get and saw out the game well.
“Everyone on the pitch put in a shift to keep a clean sheet. Especially coming to a place like this, it was a great performance.”
