Boost for The Blues as injured trio Smith, McGoldrick and Bishop all close in on a return to action
Town have been handed a timely boost by the news that Tommy Smith, David McGoldrick and Teddy Bishop have all been involved in full training this week.
The trio have boosted the numbers in training this week, along with recent addition Toumani Diagouraga and Steven Taylor, who remains on trial at Playford Road.
Tommy returns from a back injury, which has kept him out since September, although the weekend clash with Preston is likely to come too soon for him, with the manager also hinting previously that he would like the defender to get a couple of U23 games under his belt first.
However McGoldrick and Bishop could be both part of the travelling squad to Deepdale, with Teddy getting some minutes against Liverpool for the U23's last Sunday.
The former Forest striker returns following a spell out with a hamstring injury, whilst midfielder Bishop has been sidelined with an ankle problem.
We will have more from the boss ahead of the weekend trip to Preston later today, after he's spoken to the media for his pre-match press conference.
