PAUL ON BLACK CATS TEST

3 November 2020

"We're expecting a difficult game but we will be doing everything we can to try and win it"

Paul Lambert says Town will need to 'step it up' from Saturday's win over Crewe when they face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this evening.

Blues picked up all three points at home to The Alex, but the Town boss admitted the hosts rode their luck at times, and he is expecting another difficult test on Wearside tonight.

"Every game is a test and the name and size of the club makes no difference to us," Paul said.

"You can be as big a team as you want but you still have to get the job done out there on the grass.

"The main thing we're thinking is that we want to step it up from Saturday.

"We're expecting a difficult test but we will be doing everything we can to try and win the game."

Tonight's meeting with the Black Cats, which kicks off at 7pm, is available to watch on iFollow ipswich.
