Midfielder looks ahead to Morecambe clash
Rekeem Harper says that the first-team squad are 'buzzing' for today's 2021/22 season opener at Portman Road.
The afternoon’s game against Morecambe will represent the first competitive Town fixture without capacity restrictions since March 2020.
A crowd of over 20,000 fans is expected for what is sure to be a memorable occasion for everyone in attendance.
"It’s exciting," the midfielder, who signed from West Brom in June, told the Club website.
"All of the boys are preparing right and buzzing for it. Obviously, the fans will be back for the first League game so I can’t wait to play in front of them all and have their support.
"I’ve had a good pre-season. I’ve got the backing of the manager and everyone is ready to go. I just want to get out there and dig deep to help reach our goals at the end of the season."
Yesterday, the Club confirmed the squad numbers for the 2021/22 campaign.
Rekeem has been awarded the number four shirt, one that holds sentimental value for the 21-year-old.
"Number four is a special number for me. It’s been a big number for me in my whole life. I’ve got my number and I’m ready to wear the number four shirt with my chest."
Supporters who are attending today's game are encouraged to arrive early to Portman Road.
