Blues pair called up for their country ahead of the international break

David McGoldrick and Christophe Berra have been called up by Ireland and Scotland respectively for their upcoming fixtures.

The former has made Martin O'Neil's 39-man provisional squad for Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Wales on the 24th of March and their friendly against Iceland four days later.

He will be looking to add to the five caps he has already earned for the Boys in Green, although he is yet to score.

Christophe's Scotland take on Canada in a friendly at Easter Road on the 22nd before facing Slovenia at Hampden Park on the 26th in a World Cup qualifier.

He has made 32 appearances for Scotland in his career so far, with his most recent coming in a 3-0 defeat to England at Wembley in November.

The Blues' Welsh trio of Jonny Williams, Emyr Huws and Tom Lawrence will be hoping to gain call-ups later this week as Chris Coleman is due to name his squad for their qualifier against McGoldrick's Ireland on Thursday.
