Luke Chambers agrees new two-year deal to remain at Portman Road

Luke Chambers has signed a new deal that will extend his stay with Town for a further two years.

The skipper, who has played every minute of Championship action so far this season, will now remain at Portman Road until the end of the 2018/2019 campaign.

Since joining The Blues back in 2012 from Nottingham Forest, Luke has made over 230 appearances, scoring 14 times.

“I’m pleased something has finally been sorted out and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future brings over the next few years,” the 31 year-old captain told Ipswich Player HD.

“I never envisaged leaving and the last six months have been a bit strange. I just want us to get back to being in and around the Play-Offs again and looking to push on.

“Hopefully it will be a busy summer and we can kick-on again next year."
